Context: Recently, the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) has released a report on Foreign Direct Investment (FDI).
About Report
- India received 51 billion US dollar in foreign investment in 2019, making India 9th largest recipient of FDI in 2019.
- In the developing Asia region, India was among the top five host economies for FDI.
- FDI to India, the largest South Asian recipient, increased 20 per cent to 51 billion US dollar and sustaining the country’s upward FDI trend.
