About World Environment Day

• It is the most renowned day for environmental action.
• It is being celebrated every year on 5th June since 1974.
• It is the United Nations day for encouraging worldwide awareness and action to protect our environment.
• Columbia, in partnership with Germany are the hosts of 2020 World Environment Day.
• The theme of World Environment Day 2020 is ‘Biodiversity’.
